Avoid the Pain: Do Not Complain

Today’s Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:33; Numbers 11:1–2
Key Verse: Numbers 11:1

When the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.

Make sure you maintain a right attitude of thankfulness and gratitude to God.

The children of Israel turned their faith to things after God delivered them from the bondage of Egypt and led them into the wilderness. They complained because they did not have meat. They complained because of their clothes. They complained about water. They complained because they did not have some of the vegetables and herbs they had in Egypt. They complained about their leaders, and ultimately, they complained about God. In the end, it cost them their promise and their very lives. Is that a price any of us can afford to pay?

Are you upset with God for any reason right now? I know you would not want to admit it in public, but this is between you and God. Perhaps you are angry with Him because you have been believing for a car and you still have to take the bus. Does the bus get you to work and then back home? Maybe you need to reali e that you drive a car by yourself, but on a bus you have a whole harvest field just waiting to be picked for the kingdom. Are you bought with a price? Are you not a kingdom representative on assignment? Then what are you upset about?

Keep your faith in God, not in things. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things [which the Gentiles seek] shall be added to you” (Matt. 6:33 nkjv).

Today’s Prayer:

Holy Father, I am sorry for all the times I have complained about how I am treated or about the things I have not received. Thank You for loving and saving me through Your Son, Jesus. Forgive me, I ask, and I will seek first Your kingdom and trust You for the rest. In Jesus’ name, amen.
