Your Kingdom Come—And the Kingdom of Darkness Must Go

Today’s Scripture Reading: Matthew 13, 6:9–10
Key Verse: Matthew 6:9–10

Our Father in heaven, / Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. / Your will be done / On earth as it is in heaven.

You are in an occupation war between the kingdom of this world and the kingdom of God. Satan is a defeated foe, but for now he remains free, pending execution of his sentence. He is using his remaining time to wreak havoc in one last desperate dash against God’s supreme authority.

The only visible difference between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness is how it relates to family. I am sorry to break the news, but the government cannot do the things God ordained us to do; nor can it do the things only God can do.

When we relinquish our families to government entities and programs, we are actually turning them over to the kingdom of this world—and we are destroying them in the process. Man’s antipoverty programs do not produce economic independence; they actually discourage the poor from seeking jobs and generate even greater dependence on public handouts.

Our government agencies “protect the family” by spending millions of dollars to encourage so-called “safe sex” (translation: the freedom to commit fornication or adultery with anybody one chooses without personal accountability, responsibility, or lifelong commitment in marriage).

The nation’s public schools aggressively teach evolution as a fact while labeling biblical creation as a narrow-minded myth. Evidently our wise educators feel it is in our best interest for America’s children to grow up thinking they are merely nameless, purposeless, and totally accidental “slimeballs” rather than unique individuals whom God created for a divine purpose. Perhaps that is why our children are growing up to believe that there is no such thing as right and wrong; everything is relative when God is absent from the equation.

No, God has a better way—the kingdom way. It is time to stand up and take back the reins of authority over the earth.

Today’s Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I have heard the truth. Enough is enough; it is time to establish the kingdom of truth, light, and joy in the earth. It is time for the kingdom of darkness to go. Guide me and show me what You want me to do today to advance Your kingdom in my household, in my church, and in my community. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
