Yesterday, Today, & FOREVER The King of Pop

a collection of wandering thoughts…

Since mainstream media has trouble accentuating the positive these days when it comes to Michael, let me do it…

hmm…when you calculate the average on the albums sold by the worldwide best selling artists, Michael is 1st by far, not 2nd…AND, he’s a SOLO artist.

Each time I’ve been able to grasp the depth of one of his works and I learn where he’s coming from, when I move on to another one, he goes deeper still.  I’ve been examining Cry, Speechless, and You Are My Life lately.  It really is so amazing how he’s able to kinda live on such deep emotional and spiritual levels while at the very same time remaining strong enough not to be overcome by them.

Somehow, he’s managed to hold on to an appreciation for the simple and free things in life.  He has kept the faith.

His vindication day was June 13, 2005.  HIStory: This album was released on June 20, 1995, which is 7 days shy of exactly 10 years prior.  The newest songs on the album spoke directly to the day of his vindication and acquittal.

In Biblical Numerology, 7 is THE NUMBER OF SPIRITUAL PERFECTION and 10 is THE NUMBER OF DIVINE PERFECTION…

very interesting…

Messages, i.e. groups of words strung together, whether they are spoken, read, or sung, are powerfully, inspiring seeds.  What they cultivate depends on the words, i.e. seeds used.  Some inspire love and peace while others can inspire hate and/or violence.

It appears that the prophets and preachers of most young people today are not in the pulpits, but in the iPods, on the Internet, on TV, CD, DVD and radio.

Their sermons are accompanied by music and/or images, which plant their messages deeper into the hearts and minds of their audiences, regardless of the content.  Whatever is being planted is what will grow.  Even a child knows that if you plant crab apple seeds, you’re not going to grow oranges.  I wonder whose seeds will produce the best fruit, those of Michael Jackson or some other messenger like Marilyn Manson or 50cent???  And don’t even let me get started on ALL of the “artists” who must be sexually explicit in one form or another in order to sell their work…

Is it just me, or have many of the things that Michael has been saying for years, been rapidly coming to the light in the past few years?  Things like, the importance of giving, child abuse/neglect, and now, with the Oprah book club dupe, and Dave Chappelle, the lack of integrity in journalism is finally coming into question.  When Michael tried to shed light on these issues, he wasn’t taken seriously by most.  But when someone else raises or is affected by the same issues, all of a sudden it’s big news?

A force has tried to box him into a label that could not contain him as it only scratches the surface of his many gifts and talents, not to mention who he is as a man and human being.  Michael is a Dreamer and dreamers don’t know how to quit.  He has an inner force that I think even he has trouble directing.  He’s still got work to do.  Circumstances and a change in residence has only delayed it and perhaps forced him to slow down and take a well-earned break.

But I firmly believe that he will continue to do what he’s called to do.

The Millennium-Issue of the "Guinness Book Of Records" named Michael as the Pop Star who, at that time, had supported the most (39) charity organizations, By the way, that record was only one of his 20 Guinness Book Records to date.

… every minute at least 28 children die. Children have few rights and no one to speak for them. They have no voice in our world. God and nature has blessed me with a voice. Now I want to use it to help children speak for themselves"
Michael Jackson, 1992

It’s slander
You say it’s not a sword
But with your pen you torture men
You’d crucify the Lord
And you don’t have to read it
And you don’t have to eat it
To buy it is to feed it
Then why do we keep foolin’ ourselves

Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don’t make it factual
Though everybody wants to read all about it
Just because you read it in a magazine
You see it on the TV screen
Don’t make it factual
See, but everybody wants to believe all about it

Scandal
With the words you use
You’re a parasite in black and white
Do anything for news
And you don’t go and buy it
And they don’t glorify it
To read it sanctifies it
Why do we keep foolin’ ourselves
Slander
You say it’s not a sin
But with your pen you torture men
why do we keep foolin’ ourselves
 ~Tabloid Junkie, Michael Jackson, 1995

Okay, I think I got it all off my chest…for now (-;
