Start Your Day the Bright Way
Today’s Scripture Reading: Psalm 118:17–24
Key Verse: Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Millions of people will wake up this morning feeling like a truck ran over them because of the hangover from last night’s “celebration.” The prospects for the New Year somehow look dimmer through bloodshot eyes. There is a better way to greet each new day.
I will never forget the twenty-year-old man who told me how hard his life was while he wiped away the tears trickling down his cheeks. But then he looked at me and said, “You know, some days I have to wear sunglasses.”
He aroused my curiosity, so I asked, “Why?”
“Because my future is so bright that I have to shade my eyes.”
That ministered to me. We need more people who wake up every morning and say by faith, “You know, I probably need to put on some sunglasses. My future is so bright that I need to cover up my eyes. It is so bright that it is interfering with my view of my problems.”
Tomorrow morning when you wake up, get out your sunglasses. Your future in Christ is too bright for the naked eye!
Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me a bright future in Your Son. Now I can dare to dream the unthinkable and reach for the impossible. I owe it all to You, and I give it all back to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
