obey your father NOW
It Is Time to Move, Not to Delay or Disobey
Today’s Scripture Reading: : Genesis 11:31–12:4
Key Verse: Genesis 12:4
Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
This is the season to move, but count the cost before you do. Do not say you will follow Jesus “no matter what” if your love for someone is holding you back. You have some rethinking to do. God ordained that we have many loving relationships in this life, but He will not tolerate taking second place behind a man, a woman, children, a career, or things of any kind. Do not hang on so long that you force God into rearranging things for you.
At first Abram’s response to God was partial and slow. God called him to leave his father’s house at once and take only his immediate family. He did not move until after his father died, then he took his nephew, Lot. Eventually Abraham learned to obey God’s commands immediately and fully.
God has a place for you to be, and His plans for your life are big. This is not the time to be partial or slow in your obedience by faith. It is the season to move. Make this faith declaration with me today:
Jesus, I choose to follow You. I count the cost, and right now I let go of that relationship. Your plans are more important than anything else in this life. Thank You, Jesus, for including me in Your kingdom. I know that I can make a difference.
